Role Overview
At Doescher Group, we have a focus on building long-term, multi-year client relationships with enduring value. Our team provides a wide array of services to our clients, and our engagements can differ substantially from client-to-client. As such, our team is constantly juggling competing priorities in order to assure we are delivering a great experience to all of our current and prospective clients.
The role of Accounting Consultant will play a key role in client delivery for our Fractional Chief Financial Officer (“FCFO”) service offering. This hybrid role will primarily focus on working with our clients to assure their books and records are well maintained, processes are created to make this maintenance process accurate and repeatable, and ultimately that we are able to provide this all-important information to our clients on a timely basis.
A successful Accounting Consultant will work closely with our clients on the FCFO team to uphold our core values when it comes to client delivery of our FCFO service, and help us achieve our company purpose through leveraging our three uniques.
Reports to: FCFO Consultant
Job Responsibilities
● Work directly in client systems to record transactions accurately and timely, including collaboration on improving the client experience
● Engage in accounting clean up and maintenance
● Support client month-end close and reconciliation processes; develop workpapers necessary for GAAP accounting and implement
● Partner with clients accounting/finance team to plug existing holes in their reporting, including developing and maintaining relationships with key client personnel
● Provide ideas for improving quality, timeliness, and usefulness of accounting data
● Supports job costing, budgeting and cash flow forecasting, and variance analysis.
● Work with the DG team to make sure client's needs are met
● Work with FCFO Consultant to define & document processes and controls tailored to client needs
● Assist with adoption of new systems, as needed
● Work with future global accounting resources, ensuring clear communication, effective delegation of tasks, and seamless integration into existing workflows.
● Some travel to client sites required
Key Competencies and Qualifications
● Background in accounting, with a strong understanding of GAAP, financial statements, and general ledger functions. Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred
● Strong Excel skills
● QuickBooks expert - both Online and Desktop versions; competent in other accounting systems (e.g. Intaact, NetSuite, Plex, Xero, etc.)
● Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, working on multiple clients simultaneously
● Process oriented, reliable, and consistent
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to explain financial concepts to key client personnel
