POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: School Level Bookkeeper/Secretary
REPORTS TO: Principal and Finance Director
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 10.5 month position
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma
- Experience working in a professional office setting.
- Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Outlook)
- Able to operate personal computer, laptop computer, peripheral computer equipment, photocopier, fax machine, and other office equipment with a high degree of skill.
- Highly motivated with strong organizational skills; able to coordinate multiple tasks at one time.
- Strong telephone and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to lift 40 lbs. to shoulder height occasionally.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Answer telephone, receive messages, and respond to inquiries by staff, parents, or patrons of the district.
- Input data for recordkeeping in multiple software systems.
- Type and/or draft letters of correspondence.
- Maintain and order supplies; organize storage areas.

Maintain accurate accounting records by ensuring that all expenditures and revenues are recorded in an accurate and timely manner.

Assist in the preparation of reports for local and state education agencies.

Perform monthly bank statement reconciliation.

Manage district account codes in accordance with the Tennessee Financial Accounting guidelines.

Manage bank transactions and ensure bank accounts are adequately secured.

Assist auditors in finding and interpreting school information.

Provide clerical support to building level administration.

Input purchase orders and ensure payment is sent in a timely manner.
OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Attend meetings and training as directed.
- Present and communicate in a professional manner.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Attendance is expected.
Salary : $23,437 - $26,042
