QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Prefer applicants have marching band and music experience. They must have the ability to provide help to director with monitoring and assisting students, specifically exceptional students. Ability to communicate and work with a variety of students and skill levels.
REPORTS TO: Principal and Band Director
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist maintaining a culture of caring through understanding and support. Comply with all Federal, State of West Virginia and Doddridge County Schools laws, policies and procedures.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide musical instruction to prepare for performances.
- Assist Band Director in duties at Friday night football games, home and away.
- Assist Band Director with ensuring that school and band rules and policies are enforced.
- Assist with creating an environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social and emotional development of students.
- Assist to ensure that students are aware of and informed of rules and daily schedules.
- Assist with and attend band trips, competitions, and all band activities dictated by the Band Director.
- Assist with monitoring students during times in which the band director needed to be absent.
- Assist band director with student monitoring at practices when the band is marching.
- Report all student accidents and fill out accident reports.
- Establish a relationship with each student and prepare accommodations for individual student differences.
- Work towards positive parent/staff relations.
- Complete any necessary paperwork on activities daily.
- Assist director during band camp with the monitoring of students.
- Assist with planning, rehearsing, and directing of musical experiences for the school and community.
- Observe student behaviors and assess its appropriateness. Report must be submitted to the Band Director when students fail to comply to the rules.
- Meet and communicate with Band Director.
- Other related duties as assigned by the Principal or the Band Director.
TERM: This contract is to begin the 2026-2027 marching band season.
