Position Summary
The Housekeeper is responsible for the general cleanliness of the following areas: Procedure areas, patient care areas, rest rooms, offices and all other areas requiring Environmental Services support. The routine work of this employee, depending upon area of assignment, consists of sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, wiping, surface cleaning all floors, walls, ceilings, sinks, mirrors, showers, commodes, windows, and other glass areas, waiting areas and public hallways. Performs linen and trash removal. Performs terminal cleaning of isolation rooms or exam rooms as required. Moving of furniture and other heavy equipment is accomplished as directed. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period.
Performs other related duties as assigned. This job description does not restrict the right of management to change, alter or reassign duties at any time with or without notice
Qualifications
DUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 6 (six) months housekeeping experience preferred. Prior experience working in a healthcare facility preferred.
