We are seeking a dedicated Part-Time Bilingual Podiatry Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Greet and assist patients during check-in and check-out processes, ensuring a positive patient experience
- Collect patient vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration
- Assist with patient intake by gathering medical history and current complaints
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, including basic wound care or dressing changes
- Support physicians during clinical procedures including X-ray positioning or medication administration when applicable
- Document patient information accurately in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems using proper ICD coding and anatomy knowledge
- Assist with specimen collection and preparation for laboratory testing
- Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of clinical areas and equipment
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and verifying insurance information
- Provide patient education on foot care, medication instructions, or post-procedure care as needed
- Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team in inpatient, outpatient, or emergency medicine settings
Qualifications
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is required
- Prior experience in podiatry clinics or related fields such as dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, or medical-surgical units is preferred
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, ICD coding, medical terminology, and medication administration
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is highly desirable
- Experience working with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and familiarity with X-ray procedures is advantageous
- Strong patient service skills with a compassionate approach to care delivery
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a dynamic environment such as outpatient clinics or Level I/II trauma centers
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role
