Duties
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local electrical codes
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute wiring and system layouts
- Perform high-voltage and low-voltage wiring tasks on commercial and industrial electrical systems
- Use hand tools, power tools, multimeters such as ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment to identify electrical issues
- Conduct electrical diagnostics to determine root causes of system failures or inefficiencies
- Ensure all work adheres to NFPA 70 compliance standards and electrical safety procedures
- Collaborate with construction teams during renovation or new build projects, including frame carpentry when necessary
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, inspections completed, and repairs made for compliance and record-keeping purposes
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an electrician in industrial or commercial settings with a strong understanding of electrical systems and safety protocols
- Demonstrated ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams accurately
- Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is highly desirable
- Knowledge of high-voltage electrical wiring and installation procedures
- Familiarity with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) standards and local electrical codes
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, multimeters (including ohmmeters), and diagnostic equipment for troubleshooting
- Construction site experience is preferred, especially in renovation or new construction environments
- Strong understanding of electrical safety procedures to prevent accidents and ensure compliance
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail
- Additional handyman skills or experience with schematics can be advantageous
