Construction Superintendent - Mixed-Use & Multifamily

DOBCO is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee large-scale mixed-use and multifamily residential projects throughout Northern New Jersey, with a primary focus near Wayne, NJ. This individual will be responsible for leading all on-site construction operations, coordinating subcontractors and field personnel, maintaining project schedules, and ensuring all work is performed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have extensive ground-up construction experience on apartment buildings, podium construction, mixed-use developments, and large residential communities. Candidates must possess strong leadership skills, the ability to manage fast-paced projects, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in the field.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day field operations for large-scale mixed-use and multifamily residential construction projects
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to maintain project schedule and productivity
• Conduct daily site walks to monitor safety, quality, workmanship, and compliance with project plans and specifications
• Lead project scheduling efforts alongside Project Management teams, including look-ahead schedules and sequencing coordination
• Identify and resolve field conflicts, construction issues, and schedule impacts in a timely manner
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with OSHA standards, local building codes, and DOBCO safety policies
• Manage inspections with municipal agencies, architects, engineers, and ownership representatives
• Review and coordinate subcontractor scopes, manpower levels, deliveries, and site logistics
• Maintain accurate daily reports, site documentation, and progress tracking
• Drive project milestones while maintaining high standards for quality control and client satisfaction

Qualifications

• 7 years of Superintendent experience in ground-up multifamily, mixed-use, or large residential construction
• Strong background managing wood-frame, concrete, podium, and/or high-rise apartment projects
• Proven ability to lead large field teams and multiple subcontractors simultaneously
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, and building systems
• Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, and construction scheduling software preferred
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• OSHA 30 certification preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field is a plus
