Role Overview
We are hiring a Business Development Manager to lead outbound partnerships with key players in the ecommerce ecosystem—platforms, marketplaces, and SaaS tools.
This is a high-ownership, execution-focused role. You will be responsible for identifying opportunities, initiating conversations, structuring deals, and bringing partnerships live.
This role focuses exclusively on net-new partnerships. It does not manage existing partner relationships.
What You’ll DoOutbound Partnership Development
- Identify and prioritize high-value partnership targets across ecommerce platforms, marketplaces, and SaaS tools
- Proactively reach out and open conversations with companies in the ecommerce ecosystem
- Build and manage a consistent pipeline of qualified opportunities
Deal Structuring & Closing
- Own the full partnership lifecycle: outreach → pitch → negotiation → close
- Structure deals including rev share, GMV-based incentives, integrations, and referral models
- Align every deal to clear business outcomes: GMV growth, user acquisition, or revenue expansion
Partnership Launch & Execution
- Work cross-functionally with supply chain, engineering, and marketing teams to launch partnerships
- Ensure partnerships go live quickly and efficiently—not just signed
- Define success metrics and track performance post-launch
Strategic Thinking with Execution Bias
- Continuously identify new channels and opportunities within the ecommerce ecosystem
- Bring ideas—but more importantly, execute and deliver results
What Success Looks Like (First 90 Days)
- Build a pipeline of 20–30 high-quality partnership targets
- Initiate conversations with 10 relevant companies
- Advance multiple deals to late-stage discussions
- Close and/or launch at least 1–2 meaningful partnerships
- Establish a clear path to measurable revenue contribution
Requirements
- 5–7 years in business development, partnerships, or strategic sales in ecommerce or SaaS
- Proven track record of closing deals or partnerships that drive revenue
- Strong understanding of the ecommerce ecosystem
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Highly self-driven with a strong bias toward execution
Nice to Have
- Experience working with ecommerce platforms or marketplaces
- Familiarity with API integrations and ecommerce Saas partnerships
- Existing network within ecommerce
