What are the responsibilities and job description for the Territory Manager position at DNTL Surgery?
Territory: Greater Des Moines and Central Iowa (Polk, Dallas, Warren, Story, and Jasper counties, including Ankeny, West Des Moines, Waukee, and Ames; outlying communities as assigned)
Type: Full-time, W-2, field-based
Reports to: VP of Growth & Development
Company: Multiple specialties
Travel: Daily regional driving across Central Iowa; occasional overnight for training and regional meetings
About the role
You will own the Central Iowa market and build it into a high-volume, high-quality referral network for multiple specialties at once. One relationship, many doors: every general dentist, pediatric dentist, and physician office you call on is a source for multiple specialties. Your job is to add value to local referral partners by solving their referral and service needs across multiple specialties.
This is not a single-product rep job. You own the relationships, the quality of every referral that comes in, its accurate intake into our CRM, and the numbers that show where the territory is going. You will position each service line without diluting the others and make referring to us the easiest decision a front office makes all week.
You will work from a proven field model that produced over 200 referrals in its second month in previous markets. We will train you on that system and expect you to run it with discipline.
Key responsibilities
1. Build and run the territory. Map every referral source across Central Iowa, segment by volume and fit, and run a weekly call plan that keeps 150 practices in active rotation.
2. Own the relationships. Be the trusted contact for doctors, office managers, and front-desk teams through in-person visits, lunch-and-learns, and fast follow-through.
3. Represent multiple specialties to the same source. Introduce, position, and grow referrals for multiple specialties within each practice, sequencing them so each one lands with impact. 4. Own referral quality. Make sure referrals arrive complete, appropriate for the service line, and ready to schedule; coach referring offices when they are not.
5. Own CRM intake. Enter and verify every referral, visit, and contact in the CRM accurately and on time; the CRM is the system of record for the territory.
6. Own referral analytics. Track referral volume, conversion, source mix, and service-line mix; spot trends early, set monthly and quarterly goals, and report weekly on results against them. 7. Remove friction from access to care. Simplify the referral handoff, resolve scheduling and communication issues between referring offices and our specialists, and close the loop on every patient referred.
8. Activate and reactivate. Convert new offices to first referral, and win back practices whose referrals have slowed.
9. Partner with specialists. Work with our doctors and clinical teams to understand capacity, case mix, and what makes each practice a good fit.
10. Stay compliant. Follow all company policies and federal and state healthcare regulations, including Anti-Kickback Statute guidelines, in every interaction.
