Job Purpose:
We are looking for a Software Test Analyst to ensure that developed solutions meet business requirements, are free of defects, and align with the expected quality standards. In this manual testing role, you will work independently to identify, define, and execute required tests while capturing detailed testing progress, defects, and results. Your responsibility will also include evaluating the overall usability of IT solutions and ensuring successful project delivery.
- Understand project scope and collaborate with Business Analysts to ensure adherence to project objectives.
- Develop test cases and execute Quality Assurance Testing (QAT) in alignment with project schedules.
- Work closely with User Acceptance Test (UAT) testers and conduct UAT training sessions alongside Business/Product Owners.
- Resolve critical IT issues related to the QA process in a timely manner.
- Complete and ensure QA-related SEM documents are reviewed and approved in alignment with area processes.
- Participate in requirement meetings and functional design document reviews to understand system requirements.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts and Business/Product Owners to clarify and refine requirements.
- Prepare test data and ensure the QA environment is properly set up for test execution, including interfaces.
- Defect management: Identify QAT defects, track remediation, and maintain traceability to user stories.
- Work with Product Owners to set defect severity and assist with backlog prioritization.
- Facilitate defect triage meetings when necessary.
- Collaborate with Tech Leads and Developers to ensure defects are understood and addressed promptly.
- Work with UI/UX Designers to report usability defects and provide input for improvements.
- Assist QA Specialists on complex projects and unique deliverables.
- Provide critical information and analysis for Go/No Go decisions for project launches.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 3 to 5 years of manual testing experience, with a strong focus on functional testing.
- Experience working in both Waterfall and Agile project teams.
- Certification in Quality Assurance testing or 24 semester hours in IT coursework.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to analyze and identify problems and defects in software applications.
- Thorough understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and best practices in testing.
