What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Wireless Engineer-East Coast position at DMS?
DMS is hiring a Lead Wireless Engineer to drive large-scale enterprise wireless migrations and deployments across high-impact environments.
This is a hands-on, field-focused role for someone who can lead from the front—owning everything from RF surveys to cutovers and post-deployment validation.
What You’ll Do
- Lead end-to-end wireless deployments (planning → execution → validation)
- Perform pre- and post-installation RF surveys (Ekahau or similar)
- Execute large-scale AP migrations (controller-based → cloud-managed platforms)
- Coordinate and lead field installation teams during live cutovers
- Validate performance against RF SLAs (coverage, SNR, interference)
- Troubleshoot issues in real time during maintenance windows
- Deliver clean, structured documentation and project closeout reports
What We’re Looking For
- 4 years of enterprise wireless experience (multi-site, multi-AP deployments)
- Proven experience leading wireless migration projects (50 APs)
- Strong hands-on experience with Ekahau (or equivalent RF tools)
- Experience with at least one platform:
- Juniper Mist
- Cisco (WLC / Catalyst Center)
- Meraki
- Aruba
- Solid understanding of VLANs, PoE, DHCP, and 802.1X
- Experience working in high-density environments (warehouses, manufacturing, campuses)
- Comfortable working in travel-heavy, onsite deployment roles (50–75%)
Bonus Points
- Experience with automation (Python, REST APIs)
- Wireless certifications (CWNA, CCNP Wireless, Mist, etc.)
- Experience with AI-driven wireless platforms (Mist preferred)
