What are the responsibilities and job description for the QC Analytical Lab Technician - 2nd Shift (3pm - 11pm) position at DMI Personal Care?
Purpose of position: Perform QC testing of Bulk & finish good products to support in process manufacturing process using analytical instruments with an In-depth understanding of industry standards and company policies/goals.
Essential Functions:
· The main responsibility will be to perform the color review on shaded products and provide adjustments in a timely fashion to complete the batches on time.
· To use different techniques to check the color on the formulas.
· To perform physical properties testing in bulk & Finished Goods (color, Odor, Appearance & Texture), pH, Viscosity, specific gravity, density, color matching in formulation batches and in finished products.
· To test water for conductivity & pH.
· Daily water system checks and micro for raw materials & bulk.
· Analyze samples using approved in-house or USP/NF methods.
· Daily calibration of required instruments in the laboratory.
· Prepare bulk COA, help with batch cards and release of product in a timely manner, as required.
· Maintain proper documentation/laboratory notebook during analysis following cGMP and GLP & FDA regulations as well as perform out-of-specification investigation when required.
· Laboratory analysis of all assigned tasks by Lab Manager in an efficient and timely manner.
· Communicating with the Analytical lab Manager of any issues during testing is essential.
· Maintain a thorough knowledge of appropriate standard operating procedures and adapt to last minutes changes.
Job Skills & Qualifications Requirements:
- 2 years of experience working in a laboratory.
- Basic communication, mathematics, and computer skills/literacy, MS Office proficient.
- Knowledge of cGMP’s, GDP and GLPs ensuring compliance with current regulations.
- Ability to work independently and closely follow quality standards.
- Attention to detail, multitasking, decision-making skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Great team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and with minimal supervision.
- A willingness to learn new tasks and skills as training is provided.
- Able to sit, stand and walk around for long hours at a time (if needed).
- Preferred Qualifications – Color Matching.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.50 - $21.00 per hour
