Pipe Welder

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Pipe Welder to join our dynamic fabrication and construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for welding pipe systems and components with precision and adherence to safety standards, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship on various projects. Your expertise will contribute to the successful completion of complex piping installations across diverse industrial, commercial, or infrastructure sites. Duties

• Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine welding specifications and procedures.
• Perform pipe welding using various techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards and ASME codes.
• Prepare pipe surfaces through cutting, grinding, plasma cutting, and fitting using hand tools, power tools, and press brake machines.
• Execute precise pipe threading, fabrication, assembly, and installation on construction sites or fabrication shops.
• Operate rigging equipment and cranes to position pipes accurately for welding or assembly tasks.
• Use calipers, micrometers, schematics, shop math, and basic math skills to measure materials accurately and ensure proper fit-up.
• Maintain a clean work environment by inspecting welds for quality, conducting visual inspections, and adhering to safety protocols at all times.
• Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while ensuring compliance with all safety regulations related to construction site experience and metal fabrication standards.

Skills

• Extensive construction site experience with a focus on pipe welding projects.
• Proficiency in MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW welding techniques; knowledge of specific welding standards preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and interpret mechanical fabrication instructions accurately.
• Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment.
• Strong understanding of ASME codes & standards as well as AWS welding certifications; experience with gas metal arc welding (GMAW) essential.
• Mechanical knowledge including pipe threading, ductwork fabrication, sheet metal work, rigging operations, and mechanical blueprint interpretation.
• Familiarity with shop math, basic math calculations for measurements and material estimations.
• Experience operating forklifts or other lifting equipment is a plus; ability to work safely with power tools and perform metal fabrication tasks efficiently.
• Knowledge of schematics and manufacturing processes related to ductwork or piping systems; ability to interpret technical drawings accurately.

Pay: $20.00 - $36.20 per hour
