DM Merchandising is seeking a creative, social-media-savvy Social Media Content Creator to help bring our brands to life across digital channels.


This role is responsible for creating and publishing social-first content, engaging with online communities, monitoring social trends, and supporting the execution of DM's content strategy. The ideal candidate has a creator mindset, someone who naturally sees content opportunities throughout the day, understands what performs on social media, and can quickly turn ideas into engaging posts, reels, stories, and videos. They are passionate about building authentic content that makes brands feel more human, relatable, and shareable.


This position will be a part of the marketing team. While larger video campaigns and professional productions are supported by our Head of Video Strategy, this role will focus on creating authentic, day-to-day social content using mobile devices and social editing tools.


Key Responsibilities

Social Content Creation

  • Capture social-first photo and video content using a smartphone during trade shows, product launches, company events, office activities, and behind-the-scenes moments.
  • Create engaging short-form content for LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok
  • Edit content using platforms such as CapCut, Instagram Reels, TikTok, Canva, and similar tools.
  • Write captions, hooks, and copy that align with brand voice and campaign objectives.
  • Repurpose existing marketing assets into social-friendly content formats.
  • Identify content opportunities and proactively bring new ideas to the team.
  • Develop recurring content series and creative concepts that keep audiences engaged and encourage repeat viewership.
  • Identify emerging trends, sounds, formats, and cultural moments that can be adapted for DM brands in an authentic way.
  • Create content designed to stop the scroll, increase engagement, and strengthen brand awareness.
  • Experiment with new content formats and platform features to help brands stay relevant and visible.


Social Media Management

  • Schedule, publish, and manage content across social media channels.
  • Execute social media campaigns and content calendars developed by the marketing team.
  • Monitor comments, messages, mentions, and conversations across platforms.
  • Respond to community engagement and help foster meaningful interactions with customers, followers, and brand advocates.
  • Identify opportunities to participate in relevant conversations and trending topics.
  • Monitor social trends and platform conversations to identify opportunities for timely and relevant content.


Collaboration & Brand Support

  • Partner with the Head of Video Strategy to support larger content campaigns and video initiatives.
  • Collaborate with product development, sales, marketing, and leadership teams to identify content opportunities.
  • Support product launches, trade shows, events, and company initiatives through social media coverage.
  • Maintain brand consistency across all social platforms.


Analytics & Optimization

  • Track engagement metrics and social media performance.
  • Monitor industry trends, platform updates, emerging creator strategies, and new content formats to continuously improve performance.
  • Share recommendations for improving engagement, reach, and content effectiveness.


Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in social media, content creation, marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and best practices.
  • Experience creating and editing short-form video content.
  • Proficiency with social content tools such as CapCut, Canva, Instagram, TikTok, and similar platforms.
  • Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
