Salary: $220,000-$280,000 plus comprehensive benefits
Overview:
Our returning client has an immediate need to hire a skilled Estate Construction Manager. Please note that this is not a typical Estate Manager position; we can only consider candidates with significant experience managing construction and renovation projects. In the perfect world, the hired candidate would have been a GC who managed a large-scale new build or top-to-bottom renovation project and then stayed on with that Principal and, over the years, gained additional estate management experience.
The Estate Construction Manager is responsible for the overall management, operation, and performance of multiple residential properties in the San Francisco Bay Area, reporting to the Chief of Staff. This role collaborates with estate teams, household operations, maintenance, hospitality, and project management to ensure each residence operates at the highest standard of excellence, comfort, and security. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience overseeing large-scale construction renovations and remodels. A strong background in construction, including general contractor-level expertise, is required. The Estate Construction Manager provides strategic leadership, develops systems for operational efficiency, and serves as the key liaison between principals, staff, and vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote a culture of professionalism, discretion, and continuous improvement.
- Lead, mentor, and manage estate and household teams across multiple properties.
- Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure all residences are impeccably maintained and guest-ready.
- Develop and implement operational standards, procedures, and quality control systems.
- Manage property budgets, forecasting, and financial reporting to ensure fiscal responsibility.
- Oversee major repairs, renovations, and construction projects from planning through completion.
- Source, vet, and manage vendors, service providers, and contractors for all properties.
- Negotiate and monitor vendor contracts to ensure quality service and cost efficiency.
- Partner with household staff to deliver exceptional hospitality and guest experiences.
- Maintain strong communication and coordination between principals, staff, and vendors.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, security, and privacy protocols across estates.
Qualifications:

- Proven leadership and supervisory experience.
- General Manager experience from the hospitality industry could be a plus.
- Skilled at managing multiple vendors and stakeholders in high-paced environments.
- Extensive property management experience is a plus.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with household management software or tools is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple properties.
- Discreet, professional, and service-oriented.
- Flexibility to be on-call for emergencies or the Principal's needs.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Non-smoker.
- Must have excellent references.
- Willingness to undergo an in-depth background check.
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
- Must be local to the Bay Area.
Additional Qualifications (Construction/Estate Expertise):
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Hospitality, or related field; Master’s preferred.
- 5 years of experience in luxury estate, construction, or property management with demonstrated leadership in talent and vendor management across multi-property portfolios.
- Extensive construction experience with general contractor-level knowledge of building systems, project management, and renovation oversight.
- Experience managing large-scale residential or commercial construction projects, including budget control, contractor coordination, and quality assurance.
- Ability to interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and maintenance documentation.
- Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing, service-oriented teams.
- Strong financial acumen with experience developing and managing multi-million-dollar budgets.
- Proficiency with property and project management software, including Nines, Slack, WhatsApp, LeakDefense, Lutron, Alarm.com, G Suite, Expensify, Bill.com.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
Compensation and Benefits:
- $220,000 - $280,000 annually
- Paid Time Off – 120 hours annually, with a carry-over cap of 210 hours.
- Sick Pay – 72 hours annually.
