Overview:
DLH Corp is actively seeking PRN (as needed) Pharmacist candidates that will be responsible for providing verification of mail order prescriptions for our nation's veterans. These positions will be in a closed-pharmacy production facility. No retail duties!
The PRN Pharmacist will be scheduled depending upon production needs, as needed, 0-3 days per week, covering the following shift:
First Shift: 6:30am - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday
Responsibilities:
Pharmacist Responsibilities:
- Assess drug orders and cross match with medications presented at Checking Stations.
- Compound and dispense medications.
- Pre-verify medications loaded into highly specialized mechanical equipment.
- Verify and fill Controlled Substance orders.
- Perform Quality Assurance functions and supervise Pharmacy Technicians.
Qualifications:
Pharmacist candidates must meet the following:
- Graduate of an American Council on Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE) accredited school or university.
- Hold a valid and unrestricted Pharmacist License in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.
- Minimum of one year of recent (within the past two years) practical pharmacist experience.
- Ability to obtain VetPro certification (credentialing system required of all VHA health care providers).
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal communications.
- Must be able to read and communicate in English.
- Be able to lift 30 pounds.
- Have the ability to stand or sit for long periods of time.
- Be able to meet all regular hours and overtime hours that are required by the facility.
This position is located in a secured federal building. The VA requires that all applicants:
- Must be able to pass a Federal background check. NO felony convictions.
- Must be able to pass drug screening, including THC (marijuana)
