What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales & Business Development Manager position at Djula?
About the Role
Djula is looking for a commercially driven Sales & Business Development Manager to build our US market presence from the ground up. This role is responsible for developing and executing wholesale and retail channel strategies across the US, with a strong focus on both the East and West Coasts.
The ideal candidate brings deep industry relationships in fine jewelry or luxury watches that can be immediately activated, is capable of operating independently without relying on HQ to drive day-to-day activity, and genuinely believes in Djula's brand vision as a long-term partner in the US market.
Key Responsibilities
1. US Market Channel Development & Business Development
- Own wholesale and retail business development across core US markets, with priority on East and West Coast.
- Identify, pursue, and develop high-quality client relationships across target channels, including:
- Fine jewelry boutiques and specialty buyers
- Luxury and premium department stores
- Watch and jewelry retailers
- Multi-brand concept stores
- Online retailers and e-commerce partners
- VIP clients and key industry influencers
- Build the full business development cycle from scratch: prospecting, outreach, visits, negotiation, contracting, onboarding, payment collection, and repeat order management.
2. Relationship Management & Key Account Development
- Leverage existing deep industry relationships to rapidly engage target clients and partners.
- Operate independently across both coasts without requiring day-to-day support from the central team.
- Build long-term, trust-based client relationships that grow brand visibility and credibility in the US market.
- Identify key opinion leaders, industry brokers, and potential strategic partners, and drive those relationships to tangible outcomes.
3. Wholesale & Retail Execution
- Develop and execute sales plans to meet US market targets.
- Manage the complete sales cycle from initial engagement through to recurring orders.
- Use market feedback to refine product mix recommendations, pricing strategy, display approaches, and channel tactics.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with brand, operations, and supply chain teams to ensure order fulfillment, inventory coordination, after-sales support, and client satisfaction.
4. Online Distribution & New Channel Development
- Where relevant, lead or contribute to building an online distribution and e-commerce partner network.
- Understand digital sales logic and the mechanics of standing up online channel partnerships from scratch.
- Bring practical knowledge of US consumer behavior, channel characteristics, and digital retail dynamics.
5. Brand Representation & Cultural Alignment
- Represent Djula's brand identity, aesthetic, and cultural values accurately and compellingly with all clients and partners.
- Prioritize partners whose positioning and values are genuinely aligned with the brand, over short-term volume.
- Act as a key pillar of Djula's long-term commercial presence in the US.
