Essential Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and maintaining a risk-based annual internal audit plan.
- Participate in operational, financial, and compliance audits.
- Evaluate internal controls and identify opportunities to strengthen business processes.
- Document audit procedures, findings, and recommendations.
- Prepare audit work papers and supporting documentation.
- Assist in preparing periodic audit reports that summarize audit activities, observations, and recommendations.
- Monitor corrective action plans and follow up on audit findings as assigned.
- Research accounting standards, regulations, and auditing best practices.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to internal controls and risk management.
- Stay current on emerging trends and leading practices in internal auditing and financial compliance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of accounting, auditing, finance, or related professional experience (internships may be considered).
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to learn through on-the-job training.
- Experience supporting internal or external audits.
- Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies and internal controls.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS).
- Progress toward or interest in obtaining a professional certification such as CPA, CIA, CISA, or CFE.
