What are the responsibilities and job description for the Home Energy Auditor position at DJG INSULATION LLC?
DJG Insulation located in Wall, NJ is looking for a process-driven Energy Auditor to join the DJG Insulation team. This role is focused on technical precision, building science, and delivering clear, actionable results to our residential and commercial clients.
You will be responsible for the full diagnostic lifecycle—from initial site testing to final project reporting. Your goal is to identify specific thermal bypasses and air leakage points to ensure every insulation project we execute is optimized for maximum efficiency.
- Primary Responsibilities
- Technical Testing: Perform blower door tests, IR thermographic scans, and combustion safety testing (CAZ).
- Site Evaluation: Inspect attics, crawlspaces, and building envelopes to determine existing R-values and structural needs.
- Data Analysis: Translate field measurements into clear energy models and ROI projections.
- Reporting & Diagramming: Generate direct, no-fluff reports that outline specific weatherization priorities, including accurate structural sketches and house diagrams
- Skill Requirements & Experience
- Certification: BPI (Building Analyst) Required.
- 2 years in building science, insulation, or home performance.
- Hands-on experience with Thermostat installation.
- Proficiency with Snugg Pro software.
- Proficiency with diagnostic equipment (Manometers, Thermal Cameras) and field documentation.
- Ability to accurately draw house layouts and structural diagrams in the field.
- Strong practical problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and sharp attention to detail
- Must be comfortable in tight spaces (attics/crawlspaces)
- Must have a valid driver’s license for site visits across NJ.
Pay: $50,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
