Our goal for DSAS instructional staff is to implement a dynamic and rigorous curriculum that breaks the low achievement mold of struggling schools. We offer an opportunity to low-income students and families who might not otherwise afford a private school education. Using creative and discovery-based approaches, we intend to disrupt education inequality.
Our innovative approach includes a strong emphasis on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. Our unique classroom experience includes Visiting Artists collaborating with classroom teachers, and a creativity-infused curriculum to integrate the arts into all the core content areas of literacy, math, social studies, and science. At DSAS, we cultivate a school climate that is friendly and inviting to students and families.
For the 2024-2025 school year, we are seeking highly qualified, professional teachers who are enthusiastic about being an integral part of our K-8 private school community.
The ideal candidate will have these qualities:
- Bachelor of Education degree (Masters preferred)
- One - three years teaching experience in any grades K - 8
- Experience with arts integration and creative mindsets
- Knowledgeable of Social Emotional Learning
- Expertise with implementing all aspects of a balanced literacy program
- Proactive, respectful, and consistent classroom management
- Proficient in data-driven, standards-based instructional planning
- Experience with hands-on, inquiry/project-based learning
- Team-orientated and has excellent collaboration skills
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and takes initiative
- Competent in using and integrating technology
- Excellent written and verbal communication with children, families, colleagues
- Reflective and receptive to feedback for professional growth
