Dental Assistant

Division Street Dental is looking for a dental assistant to join our growing team. This position would have hours varying 20-30/week between 8am-5pm, Mon-Thurs. We’re excited to have an additional team and can’t wait to meet you!

Key job responsibilities:
- Efficiently setup and breakdown operatories
- Punch and place rubber dams
- Greet and seat patients. Review health histories. Take blood pressure and place topical.
- Maintain consistency in procedure setup layout as instructed, and maintain established instrument order in cassettes during procedures and in sterilization
- Assisting chairside during restorative procedures: suctioning/handling air-water syringe/anticipating Dr’s needs and passing instruments/materials instinctively
- Place sectional and tofflemire matrices for fillings
- Take diagnostic digital BWX, PA, and FMX
- Maintain high standard of infection control
- Keep sterilization clear and continuously running
- Seak out ways to assist all team members for example volunteering to flip a hygienists room for them
- Refill bur blocks
- Know instrument and bur names

- We have new technologies (soft tissue laser, digital charting & xrays, I/O cameras and scanner, cavitron and piezo options), however we also still utilize and appreciate ‘old school’ dentistry. Dr. Heron still places amalgams when clinically indicated or patient preferred. Tucker gold work is common in our office.

Required characteristics in applicant:
- 2 years experience
- Personable, honest, happy to work as a team and take direction
- Good time management
- Familiar with Dentrix
- Quick learner
- Self Starter

- Up to date OSHA, WISHA, HIPAA, and BLS trainings
