Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Private Caregivers to provide exceptional, personalized care to individuals in a variety of settings, including private homes, assisted living facilities, and community residences. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using manual handling techniques or equipment such as Hoyer lifts.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe for any changes in health status; report findings accurately while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary.
- Administer medications following care plans and document medication administration precisely to ensure safety and compliance.
- Support clients with cognitive impairments by implementing memory care strategies, dementia care protocols, and Alzheimer’s care techniques to enhance comfort and safety.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning client areas and laundry.
- Follow detailed care plans created by healthcare professionals; collaborate with family members, healthcare teams, social workers, or case managers to ensure holistic support.
- Use patient observation skills to identify potential health issues early; respond promptly with appropriate first aid or escalate as needed for further medical attention.
- Assist with transportation or accompany clients on community outings to promote social engagement and independence.
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards including proper manual handling procedures, HIPAA regulations, and infection control protocols.
Requirements
- Proven experience working in group homes, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home health environments; experience with long-term care or geriatrics highly preferred.
- Familiarity with working with individuals who have developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), neurodevelopmental disorders, or memory impairments such as Alzheimer’s disease or dementia.
- Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques including vital signs assessment and observation for behavioral or health changes.
- Ability to assist with ADLs using manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts; physically capable of heavy lifting when necessary.
- Strong understanding of medication administration procedures following care plans; CPR and first aid certification required or willing to obtain upon hire.
- Excellent communication skills for working effectively with clients, families, healthcare teams, and community resources while maintaining HIPAA confidentiality.
- Flexibility to work all shifts including nights, weekends, holidays; reliable transportation is a plus.
