Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Respite Workers to provide temporary relief and support to individuals with diverse needs, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those requiring specialized care such as dementia or autism. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor and observe patients for any changes in condition or behavior, maintaining detailed documentation
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and preferences
- Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA guidelines
- Support clients with memory care needs such as Alzheimer's or dementia through engagement and safety measures
- Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts and perform heavy lifting when necessary to ensure safe transfers
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through light cleaning and sanitation tasks
- Follow established care plans and document care provided accurately
- Provide emotional support and companionship to promote social interaction and mental well-being
- Adhere to all safety protocols including CPR, first aid, and patient monitoring procedures
Skills
- Prior experience in assisted living, home health, hospice care, or long-term care environments preferred
- Knowledge of patient care techniques including vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and dementia or Alzheimer's care
- Certification in CPR and First Aid required; additional certifications such as HIPAA compliance are a plus
- Experience working with people with developmental disabilities or autism is highly desirable
- Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and safety assessments
- Ability to lift heavy loads safely and assist with mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts
- Compassionate communication skills tailored to diverse populations including seniors and individuals with disabilities
- Ability to work independently while following detailed care plans in a respectful manner
