Job Summary
The primary responsibility of the Maintenance Technician III is aiding in the continual enhancement of maintenance initiatives such as the Reliability Workflow Process (RWP), Preventative Maintenance Optimization (PMO), and Predictive Maintenance (PDM). This position involves coordinating and executing proactive maintenance, repairs, diagnostic work, and refurbishments on production equipment and processing systems to uphold safety, reliability, and cleanliness standards.
Essential Duties
Conducts necessary maintenance to ensure optimal facility and equipment functioning.
Executes all maintenance tasks in safe, efficient, and tidy manner.
Replaces and repairs parts, rebuilds equipment, and aligns gears, shafts, pulleys, and belts.
Utilizes illustrated parts breakdown manuals and operational guides for equipment repair, modification, and maintenance.
Addresses all assigned maintenance work orders promptly with a strong focus on providing high-quality repairs.
Executes preventative maintenance (PM) activities according to the maintenance plan.
Documents activities in the maintenance management system.
Performs inventory control of parts and equipment.
Performs intricate repairs and extensive overhauls on system components and related equipment, adhering to the recommendations and specifications provided by original equipment manufacturers.
Conducts predictive maintenance inspections utilizing all available internal and external resources to enhance machine performance.
Provides mechanical and technical guidance, coaching, and expertise to assist level 1 & 2 technicians in enhancing their knowledge, experience, and skill set within the department.
Practices and adheres to all safety work standards, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
Passes internal Technician test with a minimum score of 85%.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills, Abilities and Educational Requirements
Required
High School Diploma/GED
5 – 8 years of mechanical or electrical experience repairing equipment and heavy machinery in a manufacturing environment
Proficiency in electrical, hydraulic, and other systems
Electro-mechanical experience
Experience in extrusion, blow molding, and injection molding
Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical and hydraulic drawings and schematics
Proven experience as a Maintenance and Reliability Technician
Proficiency in utilizing voltage and amperage meters, megger, torque wrenches, calipers, dial indicators, feeler gauges, laser tripods, and other relevant equipment.
Certification in forklift, overhead crane, wave pickers, manlifts, scissor lift, hoists, and rigging operation or willingness to obtain certification
Basic computer skills utilizing systems such as Microsoft Office Suite
Competent in conducting preventive maintenance on equipment
Capable of diagnosing equipment issues and malfunctions
Familiarity with OSHA Regulations such as LOTO, Arc Flash, and working at heights
Basic knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Office Suite
Demonstrates the ability to work independently providing effective solutions for equipment failures and installations at a high level of proficiency utilizing manuals, drawings, and schematics
Demonstrates strong reliability and adaptability to changes in the work environment
Experience working in a fast paced and high-volume work environment.
Proactive “self-starter” with a strong attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
