Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field required
- Master’s degree preferred
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years working with adolescents in residential or clinical settings
- At least 5 years of progressive leadership experience in behavioral health or human services
Knowledge & Skills:
- Deep understanding of residential treatment operations and trauma-informed care
- Strong knowledge of OhioMHAS regulations and compliance requirements
- Proven experience with audits, incident management, and program oversight
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and crisis management skills
Overview
DTAC is seeking a strategic and experienced Executive Director to lead operations at our Columbus, Ohio Residential Treatment Facility serving adolescents. This role is responsible for overall program leadership, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed care.
The Executive Director will serve as the senior leader on-site, driving program performance, developing staff, and ensuring a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment for the youth we serve.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and oversight of the Residential Treatment Facility, ensuring operational excellence and program integrity
- Lead, develop, and retain a high-performing team, including supervision, coaching, and performance management
- Partner with Talent Acquisition and Human Resources on hiring, onboarding, employee relations, and retention strategies
- Ensure compliance with Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OhioMHAS) and all applicable regulatory and accreditation standards
- Oversee admissions, discharges, and referral processes to support continuity of care and census goals
- Maintain accountability for the safety, supervision, and well-being of all residents
- Lead incident response, investigations, and reporting in alignment with regulatory requirements
- Oversee facility operations, including environment of care, safety protocols, and maintenance
- Manage program budget in collaboration with executive leadership and finance
- Establish, monitor, and drive annual program goals focused on quality, compliance, and performance outcomes
- Ensure policies and procedures are current, compliant, and consistently implemented
- Participate in and oversee on-call coverage to support 24/7 operations
- Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including referral sources and regulatory agencies
