Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tool and Die Design Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will focus on reviewing process layouts, product simulations, and die designs provided by our overseas tooling partners to ensure they align with the highest quality standards and meet all customer specifications. The ideal candidate brings a robust technical background in tool and die design or die making, complemented by experience in, process improvement, and collaboration with international tooling teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Simulation Review:
- Analyze Autoform simulations conducted by overseas tooling partners to assess part feasibility.
- Identify potential design or process issues and recommend product changes for manufacturability and efficiency.
Process Layout Evaluation:
- Assess process layouts from overseas tooling partners, ensuring adherence to specifications and blank size requirements.
Die Design Review:
- Evaluate die designs to confirm compliance with customer and industry quality standards and ensure compatibility with production equipment.
- Propose modifications to optimize die functionality, performance, and durability.
Preferred Skills:
- Proven experience in tool and die for automotive metal stamping, including knowledge of progressive, tandem, and transfer dies.
- Proficiency with CAD viewing tools such as NX, Catia, and Spinfire.
- Solid understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations specific to tool and die design.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with diverse, international teams.
