Job Summary:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals. As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide essential care and support to individuals with disabilities. You will work with these individuals directly and assist them with daily living skills, community integration, and assisting them with hygiene as needed. Your role will involve promoting independence, ensuring the well-being of individuals, and enhancing their quality of life.
Duties:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with disabilities
- Assist with daily activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and ensure a safe environment
- Support individuals in achieving their goals and participating in community activities
- Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that promotes independence and dignity
- Maintain accurate documentation of services provided and report any concerns or incidents
- Provide transportation to the individual to ensure that they are involved in the community and building their social skills.
Experience:
- Previous experience in caregiving or direct support is preferred
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques is a plus
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and guidelines for maintaining confidentiality
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with individuals of diverse backgrounds
- Compassionate and patient approach when providing care and support
- Ability to adapt to changing needs and situations
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Basic computer skills for documentation purposes
