Position: Legal Administrative Assistant
Location: New Orleans, LA
Schedule: Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Pay rate: Negotiable based on experience and contract parameters
This is a great opportunity for an administrative professional who is organized, detail-driven, comfortable working in a legal or government environment, and able to handle sensitive information with discretion.
What You Will Do
- Track Fact Witness subpoenas, calendars, hearings, trial dates, and Grand Jury-related activity.
- Coordinate with Assistant U.S. Attorneys, legal support staff, and witnesses regarding case status and upcoming events.
- Help witnesses complete required paperwork and collect receipts or supporting documents for reimbursement.
- Prepare, scan, file, and process Fact Witness vouchers and support monthly reconciliation activities.
- Coordinate witness travel and lodging reservations at government rates when available.
- Maintain case-related spreadsheets, logs, calendars, working files, correspondence, reports, and records.
- Prepare documents, tables, charts, graphs, and written materials using Microsoft Office, databases, and Adobe Acrobat Professional.
- Support trial teams with witness coordination, meeting preparation, and administrative follow-through.
Position Requirements:
- Experience with Administrative, legal support, witness coordination, travel/reimbursement, case support, records, or professional office experience.
- Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Access/database, and Adobe Acrobat Professional skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with witnesses, attorneys, legal staff, and program personnel.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, confidentiality, and deadline management.
- Ability to review legal and non-legal documents, including motions and briefs.
- Ability to work onsite in New Orleans during office hours of 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday.
- Ability to meet DOJ background, residency, confidentiality, and security requirements.
