We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. This role requires a proactive approach to cleaning and maintenance tasks, with a focus on quality and efficiency. This position acts as a team lead for 2-3 other cleaning personnel.
Job Summary
The Custodian provides general cleaning and custodial work in offices, restrooms, kitchen area, production, warehousing and other common areas within the company’s main facility. Seasonal care of lawn and snow removal as well as inventory of cleaning supplies is required.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:

- Clean building floors by sweeping, vacuuming, mopping and/or scrubbing with walk-behind auto-scrubber
- Clean cafeteria area after lunch periods
- Cleaning of communal sinks
- Cleaning bathrooms
- Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment
- Cleaning product inventory
- Restocking soap, paper towels, toilet paper, etc.
- Coordinate daily cleaning tasks for 2-3 cleaning personnel
- Respond to employee emergency maintenance requests such as: spills, plugged sinks or toilets, small water leaks, tripped circuit breakers, burned out lightbulbs, etc.
- Complete, in conjunction with outside contractors, snow removal tasks for all Company buildings and facilities such as shoveling and/or de-icing sidewalks, steps, and doorways, as needed, during winter months.
- Complete lawn mowing and lawn maintenance tasks, seasonally
- Occasional painting of walls, etc.

Education & Experience Preferred:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 years cleaning experience
- General safety knowledge of common cleaning products
- Valid Driver’s license and means of transportation (If driving, see driving requirements, below)
Additional Requirements:
At the time of hire, must submit to and pass a caregiver background check, as required by The Caregiver Law under Wis. Stat. § 50.065.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to balance, stretch, crouch, bend, stoop, crawl, walk, kneel, twist, and climb.
- Ability to stand, bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs.
- Ability to walk continually during working hours.
- Ability to see details at close range, within a few feet.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to push and pull up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to use abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without 'giving out' or fatiguing.
- Ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
Driving Requirements:
- If individual will be driving his/her own personal vehicle for business purposes, proof of adequate personal auto insurance is required.
- If individual will be driving a Diverse Options, Inc. vehicle, he/she must meet Company driving standards, which include the following:
- Must be at least 21 years old,
- Must have a current valid driver’s license, and
- Must have a good driving record.
