Job Summary
An outpatient Orthopedics & Sports Medicine clinic in Santa Monica is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant for a full-time travel/contract assignment. The MA will assist with patient intake, vital signs, clinical procedures, lab draws, and support daily clinic operations. This position requires strong outpatient experience, attention to detail, and proficiency with EPIC/CS-Link.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and room patients; document vital signs, medications, and medical history.
- Prepare patients for examinations and perform preliminary physical tests.
- Set up examination and procedure rooms based on patient needs.
- Assist providers with procedures and direct patient care tasks.
- Administer injections, immunizations, and oral medications as instructed.
- Perform venipuncture, blood draws, and prepare lab specimens.
- Submit laboratory work, including Quest Diagnostics submissions.
- Maintain clean, sanitized rooms and reprocess equipment per guidelines.
- Monitor and track department-specific data and documentation.
- Explain clinic procedures and services to patients within scope.
- Support orthopedic workflows (preferred but not required).
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Current flu vaccination (no exemptions or declinations accepted).
- Active BLS certification (AHA or ARC only).
- Medical Assistant Certificate/Diploma from a DAPIP-accredited program,
OR national certification through: AAMA, AMCA, AMT, CCBMA, or MMCI.
- Minimum 2 years experience as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient clinic or medical office.
- Proficiency in venipuncture, blood draws, and specimen processing.
- Experience using EPIC/CS-Link EMR.
- Ability to perform accurate vital signs, patient intake, and clinical support tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years Medical Assistant experience in Orthopedics.
- Familiarity with medical insurance and referral processes.
- Understanding of medical terminology.
- Experience submitting labs to Quest Diagnostics.
- Phlebotomy certification.

Pay: $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
