What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute Licensed Practical Nurse position at Districtwide?
Scope of Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist students with on-task behavior and completion of teacher assigned tasks including hand over hand assist if needed
- Assist students with questions regarding assignments
- Accompany/escort students in exploratory classes and therapy sessions as needed
- Supervise independent or small group work
- Assist in necessary record keeping including data collection or health records
- Assist in preparation of instructional materials and supplies and clean up
- Administer alternative testing accommodations when needed
- Escort students to various parts of the building
- Assist with student arrival and departure
- Attend to students physical needs including, toileting, lifting for transfers to/from wheelchair
- Attend to students medical needs under direction of school nurse such as GI Tube feeding, suctioning and care of tracheotomy
- Administer medication and/or oxygen per Physicians orders
- Monitor and implement behavior intervention plans if necessary
- Accompany students in all physical activities including in the swimming pool if necessary
- Follow directions of classroom teacher, therapists or other professional staff
