What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-time Custodian (Chichester High School students only) position at Districtwide (Location may vary)?
Shifts will be from 3-7 or 3:30-7:30 depending on end of school and transportation.
Max 20 hours per week in accord with Child Labor Laws
Weekend work may be required
Transportation will be provided for students assigned to buildings other than the High School. Communication about riding a bus will need to be made ahead of time so that the bus driver is aware of your attendance.
- Clean classrooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other building related needs
- Vacuum rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture
- Strip & wax classrooms & hallways
- Dust furniture, equipment, shelving, windowsill, and all ledge surfaces
- Polish and shine metal & chrome fixtures
- Wash walls, ceilings, and woodwork
- Wash windows, doors, and sills
- Empty wastebaskets, replace liners, take trash to dumpster
- Clean chalk boards and empty pencil sharpeners
- Transport trash and waste to disposal area
- Deep clean restrooms! Clean and disinfect mirrors, sinks, toilet fixtures. Mop/scrub floors
- Pick up all refuse on floors or school grounds
- Secure buildings always
- Adhere to all safety rules for handling and disposing of cleaning agents, Including universal precautions and proper use of personal protection equipment. Individual is required to be familiar and follow guidelines for the use of safety equipment when operating power equipment.
- Opportunity to work sporting events, plays, and concerts.
- Support leadership in roles and tasks to accomplish work orders
Special Student requirements to continue in program
- Must maintain a GPA 2.5
- Attendance is mandatory. If you cannot attend school, you will not work!
- No high-level disciplinary infractions or no more than 3 low level disciplinary infractions
