We announce the following K-12 TEACHING vacancy in Rochester Community Schools for the remainder of the 2026-27 school year. This position will expire at the end of the school year. At that time, the position holder may be asked to remain in the position, may be returned to their former position if internal/possible, or may be placed into a position for which they are qualified. CAREER CONSULTANT

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate, preferably in Counseling, CTE or Math.
- Successful STEM, Career Readiness teaching experience or a demonstrated ability to work with students in grades K-12.
- Demonstrate and models professional demeanor, resourcefulness and effective communication strategies with diverse groups.
- Ability to communication effectively with staff, and community.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of career pathways, Career Technical Education (CTE), and the Educational Development Plan (EDP) process.
- Knowledge of current best practice in college and career readiness practices.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

JOB GOAL:
To support a comprehensive K-12 Career Readiness program that connects students to career, college, military, and workforce opportunities.
REPORTS TO: Director of CTE/CFE
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Organize, prepare, and co-teach hands-on learning activities and cross-curricular in career readiness instruction across the district.
- Support, maintain and update EDP (Xello) software, K-12.
- Plan, participate, and facilitate 3P (problem, project, and place-based) educational professional learning.
- Be the primary liaison with the Oakland Schools STEMi and Oakland School STEM consultants.
- Ensure all materials in the innovative lab and check-out closet are accessible to teachers and students, in good repair with needed maintenance, organized, and inventoried.
- Support teachers with Professional Development and curriculum on new and innovative teaching equipment.
- Create a through line of career language, career readiness and pathways to success after high school.
- Support and ensure all the Oakland Schools Career Readiness targets are met yearly.
- Assist with job fairs, college visits and work alongside caseload counselors.
- Serve as a mentor for students by acting as a role model, facilitating individualized goal setting and helping identify and coordinate supports to ensure the students' success at school and work.
- The ability to write curriculum and creating access and equity.
- Other duties as assigned.
