Speech & Language Therapist

Current vacancies exist within the Norristown Area School District for Speech and Language Therapists at various locations.

* Sign On Bonus - one time (In addition to Salary): $3,000

* Special Education additional Stipend: $1,000

Qualifications:

• Must have valid PDE certification as a Speech & Language Therapist
• Master's degree in Communicative Disorders
• Must have ASHA CCC's 
• Must have ability to bill for Medical Assistance 
• State Licensure requires
• Has documentation of 18 hours of direct on-site observation by her/his supervisor and documentation of 18 other contacts, such as telephone conversations,records reviews, IEP reviews, video observations of therapy
• Holds certification by the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) in speech/language pathology; and
• Has at least one year of supervised work experience in the field of speech/language pathology.
• Current police, child abuse and FBI Fingerprint clearances required
• Clearance as an MA provider by the Commonwealth of PA and federal government

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide speech/ language therapy services
• Complete evaluations and maintain compliance with all paperwork for a caseload of school age students.
• Identify all children in the public schools who have speech and/or language problems according to State and Federal Special Education regulations.
• Complete diagnostic assessments of all speech and language problems.
• Provide prevention, remedial, and/or maintenance services to children with speech and/or language problems according to Special Education regulations
• Work with Child Study teams and Multi-disciplinary Evaluation teams in planning educational strategies.
• Serve as a resource person to building staff members.
• Arrange opportunities for consultation to parents and teachers.
• Maintain accurate records of all consultant and therapy services provided. Complete IEPs and other records as requested by the District.
• Conduct in-service programs for other school personnel.
• Provide information programs for parent/teacher, and community groups.
• Participate actively in Norristown Area School District’s educational program development and improvement.
• Upgrade clinical and case management skills.
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Meets qualifications to bill Medical Assistance 

Schedule:

• Monday- Friday 

• 7.5 hours/ day

  189 days/year

2024-2025 Salary Schedule:

experience calculated per contract agreement not to exceed step 10

Bachelor's - $55,649 to $71,065 (Step 10)

Bachelor's 24 - $59,575 to $78,341 (Step 10)

Master's - $63,161 to $85,281 (Step 10)

Master's 15 - $65,880 to $89,134 ((Step 10)

Master's 30 - $68, 595 to $92,989 (Step 10)

Master's 45 - $69,081 to $93,512 (Step 10)

Doctorate/Master's 60 - $69,565 to $94,034 (Step 10)
