Elementary Core Content Curriculum, Assessment, and Instructional Leaders for Special Education
CLASSIFICATION: TCEA
Status: Extra Duty Stipend
Contract: TCEA Master Agreement
General Summary:
The Special Education Content Leader will support with providing professional development, compliance tasks, and department meetings at their respective grade/building level. The Content Leaders will report to the Executive Director of Special Education.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop understanding and knowledge of the State/Federal laws related to special education and be able to communicate those standards to stakeholders.
- Communicate and create district curricular/instructional initiatives to stakeholders.
- Outline, implement and lead district professional development in special education for teachers across the district outside and/or inside of the school day
- Analyze data for the district and site buildings involving district leaders.
- Assist with compliance tasks related to MDE guidance.
- Examine and recommend assessments, curriculum, and course/unit adjustments for the district.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Minimum of five years of successful teaching and leadership experience
- Is a respected teacher leader

- Demonstrate a willingness to listen and learn
- Strong and effective facilitation skills
