Substitute Custodian (As Needed)
Position Responsibilities
The Substitute Custodian provides custodial support on an as-needed basis to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. Duties may include:
- Keeps buildings neat and clean at all times.
- Performs routine cleaning and maintenance duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and restroom cleaning.
- Moves furniture or equipment within buildings as needed for school activities or as directed by the building principal or administrator.
- Assists with event setup and teardown as needed.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Adheres to all Board of Education policies and district procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance or building administrators.
- Experience with floor maintenance, including waxing and buffing, is preferred but not required.
Terms of Employment
This is an as-needed substitute position with no guaranteed number of hours. Work schedules will vary based on district needs, including coverage for employee absences, special events, or other staffing needs. Substitute custodians must be available to work on short notice when possible and will be compensated according to the district's approved Facilities Salary schedule.
