What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Athletic Trainer position at District Wide?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Recognize, evaluate, treat and rehabilitate participating athletes who have suffered a sports injury or illness
- Attend athletic team events and additional special events as directed (in district and out of district)
- Attend daily team practices and be available by phone when not on campus
- Maintain documentation and records of student athlete injuries and treatment plans
- Ensure school insurance claim forms are completed and distributed
- Work cooperatively and communicate effectively with all coaches, students, parents, healthcare providers and community
- Work with athletic trainer and coaches to design and implement Emergency Action Plans
- Make return to play decisions as appropriate
- Assist with the purchase and inventory of supplies/equipment
- Provide first aid and basic life support as needed
- Conduct training for coaches and athletes on athletic injury prevention and youth sports safety
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer and/or Athletic Director
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Certification (AR license in Athletic Training)
- BLS/CPR certification
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Clean background check
Physical requirements
- Be able to lift more than 100 lbs. (with assistance of another person or equipment)
- Walk, run, climb, balance, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, twist or bend
- Exposure to outdoor elements
- Stand and sit for extended periods of time
- In district and out of district travel
Reports to: Head Athletic Trainer/Athletic Director
Contract: 220 days
Salary : $56,514 - $75,979
