DESCRIPTION
The Paulding County School District (PCSD) Technology Division offers internship opportunities for post-secondary students on an as-needed basis when district staff have mentoring capacity and for work within high-demand positions of vacancy within our district. Students may apply for open internship opportunities and expect to complete an application with references, provide a resume, and interview.
Internship engagements must be approved by a PCSD Division Chief, and interns must complete an onboarding process to become a temporary part-time PCSD intern as well as abide by the school district’s policies and procedures.
INTERNSHIP REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Technology interns should be enrolled in or graduated from a post-secondary college or university program in a study program/major of Information Technology/Computer Science
- Internships for post-secondary college credit through a college/university program require an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) between PCSD and the college or university.
- Internships offering compensation require onboarding of the intern as a temporary, part-time employee of the Paulding County School District.
- All interns must abide by PCSD policies, rules, and regulations.

*Hourly rate: $15.00/hour
THE INTERN AGREES TO THE FOLLOWING:
1. Submit a weekly timecard to the Intern Supervisor
2. Perform duties assigned by Intern Supervisor
3. Do not exceed hours assigned per week by Intern Supervisor
*Pay is provided monthly on the PCSD payroll dates.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF INTERNSHIP
The Intern certifies compliance and acceptance of the Paulding County School District’s Board and Employment Policies posted on the district’s website, employment requirements of the district, including those listed within the Employee Handbook, job duties, and schedule assigned by the intern supervisor, and must adhere to the following General Terms and Conditions.
General Terms and Conditions
Term: The term of the internship is determined by the needs of the district and the terms of the MOU, when applicable.
Description of Services: Intern agrees to perform the services designated and duties assigned by the Intern supervisor.
Termination: PCSD may discontinue working with an Intern or the Intern Program at any time, based on the needs of the district.
Compliance with School District Policies: Intern shall, at all times during the term hereof and during the performance of services hereunder, comply with PCSD’s policies, procedures, regulations, and directives, as modified from time to time. Interns shall abide by PCSD’s Internet and Technology Acceptable Use Policy, utilizing security measures to prevent unauthorized access to any and all computer networks and Proprietary Information, trade secrets, or Student Information of the School District.
Interns on School District Property:
1) All interns working with PCSD must comply with all policies and procedures related to on-campus work that are in effect at the school or administrative site. All interns shall conduct themselves in a professional manner and should not give the appearance of fraternizing with staff or students.
2) PCSD IS A DRUG FREE WORKPLACE – Interns will not engage in the unlawful manufacture, sale, distribution, dispensation, possession, or use of controlled substance or drugs on PCSD property at any time.
3) PCSD IS A SMOKE FREE WORKPLACE – Interns will not use tobacco products on PCSD property at any time.
