Part time position ~20 hours per week

POSITION SUMMARY:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develops, implements, and monitors IEPs for all students eligible for physical therapy services.
- Develops, implements and coordinates a physical therapy program, including philosophy, vision, departmental procedures and goals.
- Provides direct service to students as indicated on specific IEP's.
- Evaluates students using appropriately conveyed information with parents and school teams.
- Interprets assessment findings and appropriately conveys information to parents and school terms.
- Consults with school staff, parents and agencies regarding student needs, progress, and instructional modifications.
- Maintains student services, administrative and other department records in accordance with the Arizona Physical Therapy Practice Act as well as school district, State and Federal policies.
- Evaluates and reports on student progress.
- Communicates and consults with school staff, parents, administrators, physicians, community and other professionals effectively both orally and in written form.
- Participates in professional growth activities.
- Establishes and maintains good rapport with students, employees, community members and vendors.
- Maintains a high level of ethical behaviour and confidentiality.
- Complies with all rules, regulations and policies of the Governing Board;
- Other job related duties as assigned.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
- Masters/Doctorate Degree required
- Arizona Physical Therapist license
- Pass a fingerprint clearance and background check or maintain a current IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Two (2) years of pediatric clinical experience or elementary school experience preferred.
- Completion of six (6) months of supervised clinical affiliations
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

- Computer Skills – Demonstrated competency in computer applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and typing.
- Communication Skills – Ability to read and interpret general documents such as employee handbooks and safety/training manuals. Ability to write general correspondence and speak effectively with others.
- Math Ability – Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Reasoning Ability – Ability to interpret an assortment of instructions furnished in variable forms. Ability to apply reason to research and solve moderately complex issues with little or no assistance.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
- Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, employees are frequently required to sit, talk, and hear. The employee occasionally will stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. Employees will frequently interact with the public and other staff members. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
