POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

Position:             Maintenance Worker

Non-Exempt, Non-Certified Support, Full-Time, 12-month Staff. District Employee Assigned to Pryor Campus

 

Starting Date:      June 1, 2026

 

Reports to:          Maintenance Supervisor

 

Schedule:            7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., or 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (dependent upon position assigned) with a half-hour meal break, Monday through Friday each week (schedule may be adjusted by Supervisor based on the needs of the District but will maintain 40 hours per week. Breaks and summertime schedule as directed by the maintenance supervisor.

Compensation

Package: $43,348 - $48,368 minimum annual compensation, commensurate with experience. Health, dental, vision, paid life insurance, and teachers’ retirement paid; flexible benefits plan; sick leave, vacation, and paid holidays. Total minimum compensation package approximately $63,609 - $68,368 annually.

Primary

Function:  To promote quality career and technical training by providing students with a safe, attractive, clean, and comfortable place to learn; responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, general upkeep and maintenance of assigned educational buildings, grounds, buses, and fleet vehicles, assistance with general remodel and construction including painting, changing light bulbs, etc; service and repair of ground maintenance equipment, and setup and teardown for special classes and events. Also, provide a safe and secure facility by ensuring doors and gates are locked and lights and alarms are working. Responsibilities also include any other duties assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor, Director of Facilities, and/or Campus Director.

 

Education:          High school diploma or equivalent required.

 

Experience:  Experience and competency in the following areas are needed: Experience in industrial maintenance, electrical and/or HVAC, and/or plumbing repairs required. Must have skills in the operation of power and manual tools, and light and heavy equipment. Must have knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions. Must be in possession of or have the ability to obtain a current valid Oklahoma School Bus Driving Certificate and a commercial driver’s license. Must have good communication skills, basic computer skills are preferred. Must have the physical ability to accomplish thorough upkeep and general maintenance of buildings and the ability to lift in excess of 50 pounds, have the ability to give and receive instructions, get along with others, and demonstrate good attendance and punctuality in the workplace. All positions require a criminal history background check and a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening. Section 135 of the Oklahoma School Code prohibits a school from employing or re-employing anyone who has been convicted of a felony. Required proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.

NORTHEAST TECHNOLOGY CENTER JOB DESCRIPTION

Non-Exempt, Non-Certified Support, Full-time, 12-month Staff

 

TITLE:            MAINTENANCE WORKER

Hours:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Comply with all state and federal laws, policies and procedures of the school
  2. Attend professional development training as
  3. Assist that the United States flag and Oklahoma flag are properly displayed on school
  4. Assist in conducting an ongoing program of general maintenance, upkeep, and repair of the
  5. Drive bus routes as needed and follow all guidelines, laws, and policies for bus
  6. Keep buildings and premises neat and clean at all
  7. Properly clean and disinfect bathrooms daily and clean all sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains as
  8. Must be comfortable working at heights up to 60’ above the ground while using approved
  9. Keep all floors in a clean and attractive condition and in a good state of preservation as
  10. Report any damage to school property to the Supervisor or Campus
  11. Move furniture and equipment as required for meetings or classes scheduled at the
  12. Ensure all exit doors are open when necessary, the building is secure by locking doors and gates, and lights and alarms are working at the appropriate times designated by the maintenance supervisor and campus
  13. Shovel, plow, sand walks, driveways, parking areas, and steps for snow and ice
  14. Perform all yard-keeping chores, such as grass cutting, caring for plants and vegetation, tree trimming, etc., as necessary to maintain the school grounds in a safe and attractive condition.
  15. Assist in maintaining an inventory of supplies and equipment, and inform the Maintenance Supervisor of needed replacements far enough in advance so that they may be delivered in sufficient time so as to not hinder the performance of duties.

  17. Regular attendance following a designated work Must be able to work scheduled and extended hours and additional days/evenings as required by position responsibilities.
  18. Must be present at the facility during designated breaks when requested by the Maintenance Supervisor, Director of Facilities, and/or Campus Director.

Education, Experience and Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent
  2. Experience in industrial maintenance, electrical and/or HVAC and/or plumbing repairs
  3. Within the first six (6) months of employment, must successfully complete a school bus driver course and hold a current school bus driver’s certificate as required by the Oklahoma State Department of Education and a valid current Commercial Drivers’ License from the State of Oklahoma, air brake endorsement required.
  4. Annual health certificate signed by a physician licensed in Oklahoma attesting that the physician has examined the driver and that the driver has no sign or symptoms of ill health, and is otherwise, from the observation of such physician, physically and mentally capable of safely operating a school bus.

 

  1. Subject to regular random drug/alcohol testing as well as post-accident testing when federal or state law or board policy requires.

Work Environment:

  1. Operates in a public-school
  2. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing
  3. Routinely uses equipment outside, including hand and power tools, while performing maintenance on buildings and equipment.

Physical, Mental Demands and Dependability:

  1. Medium to heavy physical effort required, for example, loading and unloading a truck with or without forklift, conduct maintenance on various equipment in a climate-controlled building and/or outside, must be able to lift in excess of 50 lbs.
