Role Description
The Financial Controller will lead the accounting functions for a specialty power solutions company, ensuring robust financial management, compliance, and strategic support for business growth. This role oversees all accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls, and partners with executive leadership to drive profitability and operational efficiency.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations, general ledger, and financial reporting.
• Oversee the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.
• Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets and minimize risk.
• Provides financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Maintain and refine job costing systems and project accounting procedures.
• Prepare and analyze Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules.
• Works with external auditors and lead annual audit process.
• Manage fixed assets, including depreciation schedules, asset tracking, and accounting for asset acquisitions and disposals.
• Monitor and analyze daily cash balances, ensuring appropriate liquidity and alignment with operational needs.
• Advanced Excel/data analytics skills.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Collaborate with executive leadership team on strategic planning and budgeting.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
• Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Qualifications
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration required.
- CPA strongly preferred
- Experience with rental equipment or project-based accounting software (e.g., Texada, RentalMan, or similar) required; Texada Software strongly preferred
- Ten years or more of related experience required
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with Concur, Adaptive Insights, and/or Qlik Sense a plus
