Insurance Defense Litigation Associate

A well-established regional law firm is seeking a motivated and experienced Insurance Defense Litigation Associate with 2 years of litigation experience to join its Columbia office. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who enjoys managing complex litigation matters from inception through resolution while working alongside a collaborative and respected litigation team.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage insurance defense litigation matters in both state and federal courts
- Take and defend depositions, handle motion practice, and manage expert witnesses throughout litigation
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other litigation-related documents
- Develop case strategy while providing exceptional client service and maintaining organized case management
- Ensure compliance with Federal and South Carolina Rules of Civil Procedure
Qualifications:
- 2 years of insurance defense litigation experience
- Experience handling depositions, motion practice, and expert witnesses
- Knowledge of Federal and South Carolina Rules of Civil Procedure
- Experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred:
- Trucking & Transportation
- Medical Malpractice
- Professional Liability
- Premises Liability
- Commercial Litigation
- Active South Carolina Bar admission required
- Excellent written and verbal communication, legal research, and analytical skills
- Strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and work ethic
