What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tax Manager position at Distinct | North America?
Tax Manager | Lubbock | $140k to $160k
5 years’ Public Accounting experience | CPA required
What if your next Tax Manager role wasn’t really about being a Tax Manager?
What if it was the step before leading the department.
Maybe even ownership.
This established Public Accounting firm is looking for someone who can come in, work closely with the Partners and gradually take on more of the tax function as the firm continues to grow.
So yes, initially you’ll be reviewing returns, preparing the more complex work and managing client relationships.
But that’s not where they want the role to stop.
The longer term plan is for this person to become a key part of the leadership team and potentially take ownership of the tax department.
If ownership is something you’ve thought about before, there’s a genuine conversation to be had here.
The client base is mainly privately owned businesses, real estate and agriculture. Agricultural experience would obviously be useful, but it’s not essential.
If you’re technically strong, good with clients and comfortable learning a new industry, they can teach you the agriculture side.
And in fairness, if you’ve spent the last few years doing partnership returns, there’s probably a lot less mystery to it than you think.
Relocating to Lubbock? That’s absolutely something they’ll consider too.
Here’s the other thing.
You don’t need to match every single point in this advert before introducing yourself. The apply button isn’t legally binding.
Worst case, we have a quick conversation and decide the timing isn’t right.
Best case, you find the role that finally gives you somewhere to go beyond Manager.
