circa $115,000 – $150,000 experience depending

If you enjoy variety, this is the sort of role that keeps you interested.

One day you might be helping a client improve systems and processes. The next, stepping into a business to support during turnover in their accounting team. Sometimes it is higher level review work, controller style responsibilities or acting as a sounding board for business owners. And yes, sometimes it is answering a QuickBooks question or helping with payroll too.

That is the reality of this role.

This is not a bookkeeping only CAS position.

This independent Fort Wayne CPA firm is looking for a CAS Manager to join a growing team that supports clients across a broad range of accounting and advisory needs.

The work is varied and hands on. Depending on the client need, you could be involved in:

• Bookkeeping oversight and review
• Controller and CFO style support
• Payroll and operational accounting support
• Software and process improvement projects
• Stepping into businesses during periods of turnover or change
• Helping clients improve accounting processes and reporting
• Acting as a day to day resource for business owners and internal teams

They need someone comfortable operating across all levels of the work. Someone who can roll their sleeves up when needed, move between clients and wear a lot of different hats.There is also a leadership angle here if you want it.

The firm wants to continue building and streamlining the CAS function, so for someone who enjoys thinking strategically about team structure, capacity, client delivery and growth, there is real opportunity to get involved.

If that is not your thing, that is fine too. The Partners currently oversee the department, so they are equally open to someone who prefers staying hands on with clients and delivery. The key thing is finding the right person first.

With around 50 people in one office, it still feels like a local firm where people know each other and Partners are genuinely involved. If you do good work, it gets recognised.

It has a genuine Midwest feel to it too. Down to earth people, collaborative teams and not much ego. They do not see much turnover and there is a reason for that.

Several of the leadership team have progressed internally, and the people around you have been where you are. Mentorship and development are a genuine part of the culture here.

What you need -You'll have at least 5 years of accounting experience, you'll need to have experience in CAS, outsourced accounting, client accounting services or a similar environment within public accounting who enjoys variety, problem solving and working closely with clients.
