Coffee Processing Technician

This position is for Day Shift, Monday through Friday, 6am - 2:30pm

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Processing Operator is responsible for directing coffee roasting and packaging volumes through the manufacturing process in the Renton, WA manufacturing facility. Key elements of this position include proper routing of coffee, ensuring predetermined quality and safety standards are met, strategic thinking and ability to work in a fast-paced environment, continual improvement of workflow processes and effective communication with all plant staff.

KEY DUTIES:

• Use the daily schedule as a tool to prioritize and route manufacturing orders through the roasting, grinding, packaging system to ensure all equipment is running.
• Communicate independently and effectively with Maintenance, Operators, Roasters and Quality personnel to understand all conditions affecting current production.
• Provide clear written and spoken direction to special handling of manufacturing orders.
• Use computer to route jobs through the system.
• Operation of high-capacity commercial grinders and testing equipment.
• Managing the flavoring process for shift.
• Proper management of documents and the ability to follow written instructions.
• Physically move product using forklift or other designated equipment.
• Perform tasks associated with ensuring quality of product.
• Lead or assist in shift kick off meeting as needed and designated by Manager.
• Create and foster a positive, cooperative work environment.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to enhance individual and team performance.
• Ensure all sanitation standards are being satisfied, and paperwork is up to date.
• Escalate machine operation issues as needed to Maintenance and Production Manager.
• Perform audits and/or verification activities as requested by managers.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma or equivalent..
• Previous experience working with manufacturing based technology, processes and principles required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour

Experience:

• food manufacturing: 2 years (Preferred)
