Position Summary
We are seeking a creative, Christ-centered marketing graduate to serve as our Online Marketing Manager intern to further your career. This remote internship will assist in the development and execution of marketing strategy across all Discipled Church initiatives and platforms. You'll create engaging content that advances the Great Commission through digital channels, building online communities passionate about discipleship. The ideal candidate will have online marketing experience, including social media, or education, graphic design skills, and a heart for using digital media to spread the Gospel and equip believers for disciple-making.
Note: This internship may transition into a paid position based on performance and organizational growth.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy & Planning (30%)
- Lead the development of Discipled Church’s comprehensive social media strategy across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and X/Twitter
- Create content calendars aligned with ministry initiatives and seasonal campaigns
- Identify target audiences and engagement strategies for each platform and ministry initiative
- Research social media trends and best practices in faith-based and nonprofit sectors
- Set goals and track key performance metrics (engagement, reach, follower growth, conversions)
- Drive additional initiatives that are relevant for building community and brand awareness, including email newsletters and various drip campaigns
- Coordinate content themes across all Discipled Church initiatives (main ministry, Marketplace Disciples, Layman's College, Spiritual Formation)
Content Creation & Management (50%)
- Design original graphics, reels, and visual content using Canva and Adobe Creative Suite
- Create engaging written content including captions, posts, and calls-to-action
- Curate and repurpose existing ministry content for email newsletters and social media platforms
- Produce short-form video content and video editing for Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and TikTok-style content
- Develop platform-specific content optimized for each channel's audience and format
- Ensure all content aligns with ministry voice, theological accuracy, and brand guidelines
- Schedule and publish content using social media management tools
Community Engagement & Growth (15%)
- Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and community interactions
- Engage with followers and build authentic online relationships
- Identify and engage with relevant Christian influencers, ministries, and communities
- Foster conversation and community around discipleship topics
- Encourage user-generated content and testimonials
Analytics & Optimization (5%)
- Track and report on all defined marketing performance metrics
- Analyze what content resonates most with audiences
- Make data-driven recommendations for content optimization
- Provide monthly reports on growth and engagement
Position Details
- Commitment: 5-10 hours per week
- Duration: 6 months to 1 year internship
- Location: Fully remote
- Reporting: Reports to Chief Operating Officer
- Schedule: Flexible hours with ability to plan and schedule content in advance

Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or related field
- Demonstrated experience managing social media accounts (personal, organizational, or academic projects)
- Portfolio of social media content or graphic design work
- Strong understanding of major social media platforms and their unique audiences
Technical Skills:
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Familiarity with social media scheduling and analytics tools
- Basic video editing skills
- Proficiency in Canva preferred
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro) preferred
Faith & Ministry Alignment:
- Personal relationship with Jesus Christ and active follower of Christ
- Passionate about individual discipleship within the Church
- Heart for the Great Commission and disciple-making
- Understanding of biblical theology and ability to communicate spiritual truths

Preferred Qualifications

- Familiarity with social media advertising (Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads)
- Photography or videography skills
- Understanding of marketplace ministry or theological education
