Dirigo Federal Credit Union is a profitable and fast-growing community credit union headquartered in Lewiston, Maine. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Teller in our Auburn Office. We are seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, career-minded professional with the vision, passion, and ability for exceeding the expectations of our member-owners. The ideal individual will
assist members with basic financial transactions, to include receiving and paying out cash and other negotiable instruments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Receives and processes member financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments; sells money orders and teller checks to members; transfers amount from member accounts as directed.
2. Welcomes members and provides routine information concerning services and directs members to appropriate department for specific information and services.
3. Verifies and posts transactions to member accounts and maintains member and Credit Union records.
4. Balances cash drawer and daily transactions.
5. Cross-Sell Credit Union services.
6. Performs a variety of tasks including typing, filing, computer input, and answering the phone.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS NEED FOR THE POSITION:
Experience and Skill Requirements: The following experience and skills are considered essential:
· 6 months of similar or related experience.
· Strong member service skills.
· Knowledge of sales and relationship building skills.
· Knowledge and awareness of all credit union products and services.
· Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
· Knowledge of computers.
· Be trustworthy while working with sensitive information
· Dependable- Ability to show up to work daily and on time.
· Accountability - Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions.
· Interpersonal Skills - Work involves contact with persons beyond immediate associates regarding routine matters for the purpose of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion. Outside contacts take the form of service to the public (members or vendors), requiring ordinary courtesy in providing assistance and information.
· Decision Making - Ability to make critical decisions while following Credit Union procedures.
Education Requirements: The following education requirements are considered essential:
· High School Diploma or GED
