About the Position:
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will support our pharmacy team in delivering high-quality care. You'll gain hands-on experience in medication therapy management, prior authorization processes, patient communication, and more. This position is an excellent opportunity to apply classroom knowledge in a professional setting while preparing for your future career as a pharmacist.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize the MTM Outcomes platform to conduct medication reviews and provide therapy recommendations based on the patient’s condition.
- Contact patients upon initiation of therapy to provide counseling on common side effects, proper administration, adherence, and frequency of use—under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Assist with prior authorization submissions and track them through completion.
- Communicate with physician offices for prescription clarifications and necessary updates.
- Monitor and respond to patient inquiries regarding their medications through multiple communication channels. Prepare patient work-ups and retrieve relevant patient and lab data.
- Support special projects assigned by the Clinical Pharmacist and VP of Clinical Services.
Requirements:
- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program.
- Must possess a valid Pharmacy Intern license.
