POSITION SUMMARY:

This is a professional position providing director level program management of the Together We Rise program under the Families First Division. Together We Rise integrates the understanding of the dynamics underlying family dysfunction, which can result in the abuse and neglect of children, with the unique expertise of providing trauma-informed, family-centered interventions to address complex mental health and substance misuse disorders. Together We Rise aligns with the Family First Prevention Services Act (FFPSA), which is focused on keeping children safely with their families to avoid the trauma that results when children are placed in out-of-home care. The Together We Rise program operates with the understanding that children do best in a strong family, and that children and their families do best with support from their communities. To increase the number of children who can remain safely at home with their families, the law provided families with greater access to mental health services, substance use treatment, and/or improved parenting skills. The Together We Rise program ensures families have access to mental health, substance use treatment, and supportive services that are focused on strengthening families and proactively supporting those children at risk of abuse, neglect, and separation from their family.

 

The Director of Prevention and Family Preservation will play an integral role of initiating and setting goals for the program according to the organizations strategic plan that involves planning operations processes to meet deadlines, milestones, manage budgets, and developing effective business practices to meet outcomes and goals. This position requires an ability to conceptualize Directions for Living’s organizational strategy and to accurately measure success. The Director of Prevention and Family Preservation must have excellent communication, organization, and budget management skills, and be able to work collaboratively with the Leadership Team and community partners to meets goals and achieve success. The Director of Prevention and Family Preservation will be responsible for overseeing Together We Rise programing administered by a team of supervisors and is responsible for ensuring that program supervisors meet program goals and outcomes. This is an office position that also requires field work. The Director of Prevention and Family Preservation is responsible for implementing a strategy to meet annual client facing client care goals and ensuring the program meets a total annual client facing client care number of 16,356, which represents an annual client facing client care number of 7,896 for counselors (6), 4,230 for Intensive Case Managers (3), and 4,230 for Certified Peer Mentors (3). Achieving the minimum required weekly, monthly and annual client facing client care hours is an essential function of this positon.

 

Directions for Living is an essential services provider. All Directions for Living Team Members must be willing and able to provide vital support and essential services to the people that we serve in the event of an emergency, pandemic or other disaster situation.

 

Qualifications:

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:

1. Master’s Degree Social Work or related area of study from an accredited university with two (2) years of supervisory experience preferred or a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with over 5 plus years of supervisory experience with at least 2 years of experience working with at-risk populations to include families experiencing substance misuse, domestic violence, mental health, and emotionally disturbed children.

2. Previous child welfare experience is preferred

3. Certified Addictions Professional (CAP) preferred.

4. Must become certified as a Wraparound Facilitator in high fidelity Wraparound and become certified as a Wraparound Facilitator Supervisor/Coach within 3 months of employment. Preference will be given to individuals who are currently certified as a Wraparound Facilitator Supervisor/Coach in high fidelity Wraparound.
