About the Role


A National Union is seeking an experienced School Director/Principal to lead a local Joint Apprenticeship Training Academic Center in Las Vegas. This individual will serve as the senior academic and operational leader, overseeing all training programs, instructors, curriculum development, student performance, and overall school operations.

We are looking for a seasoned academic professional with experience as a school administrator, principal, or dean of students—someone mature, confident, and capable of managing disciplinary issues, faculty oversight, and program development in a structured educational environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership and management of the Joint Apprenticeship Training Center.
  • Oversee all instructional staff, including hiring, evaluating, training, coaching, and supporting instructors.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance training curricula aligned with industry standards, accreditation requirements, and apprenticeship guidelines.
  • Ensure academic programs meet regulatory, union, and certification requirements.
  • Lead disciplinary processes, student conduct interventions, and conflict resolution.
  • Manage day-to-day school operations, including scheduling, facilities oversight, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor student progress, academic reporting, attendance, and performance tracking.
  • Implement and maintain school policies, procedures, and compliance standards.
  • Coordinate with union leadership, board members, and industry partners on program goals and outcomes.
  • Support staff professional development and ensure instructional excellence.
  • Engage with students, apprentices, and instructors to foster a positive, safe, and productive learning environment.
  • Lead accreditation, audits, and program evaluation efforts.
  • Create and manage departmental budgets and operational plans.
  • Ensure all training materials and coursework reflect current industry practices.
  • Represent the school at meetings, events, and community or union engagements.


Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Education, Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 5 years of experience as a School Principal, Assistant Principal, Dean of Students, Program Director, or Academic Administrator.
  • Strong background in curriculum development, program oversight, and educational operations.
  • Experience working in structured training environments or apprenticeship programs is a plus.
  • Proven ability to manage disciplinary issues with professionalism, fairness, and maturity.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities in overseeing faculty, managing teams, and directing educational programs.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with union leadership, instructors, students, and community partners.
  • Knowledge of compliance regulations, reporting standards, and accreditation processes.
  • Strong decision-making abilities, independence, and a high level of integrity.


Additional Qualifications

  • Experience with vocational training, technical education, or trade-focused academic programs strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with adult education, workforce development, or continuing education environments.
  • Ability to work extended hours and handle responsibilities requiring timely decision-making.
